Sweat

41 today. It's nearly midnight and the temperature has dropped to 34. I'm sittng in front of a fan wearing a wet sheet over my shoulders. I think I'm going to get a bucket of water for my feet. Of course I did get a bit wet earlier when the toilet cistern - which has already been misbehaving and the lid was off so we could attend to its needs - decided to completely bugger up and start squirting mains pressure water at the ceiling. What drought was that again?
Luckily this happened after everyone had left from the family get together. The one we had to cater for with no electricity because of the statewide power blackouts due to the bushfires that have been burning for the last couple of months. The catering which involved trying to find which shopping centres had power. The driving around to find which involved crossing all the major roads and intersection without working traffic lights (see above re bushfire, blackout etc).
The going to the bottleshop to get colds drinks and ice to keep it cold and somehow there was water in the bag of ice which I put in my trolley and somehow the bag managed to get a hole in and somehow water went everwhere there as well. But not as messy as when earlier today at work I was filling the cold drink vending machine at work and I dropped a can of coke which literally exploded - a great big hole in the side. Sticky icky mess.
And what's the forecast for the next few days. 37, 31 34, 38. I think I might sit in the loo and wait for it to explode again. I'd like to share photos of my flooded wc but unfortunately the camera has given up the ghost as well and financially it's down the list a bit so you will just have to use your imagination. Don't forget to imagine the xmas tree lights as they are still giving off their own special ambience. Thank god they are outdoor lights and so survived the upside down flood with nary a zzzzzzzt.
Latest news - the blackout is expected to recur tomorrow. Yippee.
