When too much is never enough

Xmas Day

Another excuse for too much food

A happy kris kringle recipient.

Above a couple of likely suspects holding a suspicious package which will soon be wending its way to Barton Road, London and below some terrorists fleeing after a rocket attack.

Minimalism?

A style of decorating adaptable for both the lazy and the short.

House guests

My latest visitors are a family of ringtail possums. They've built a nest in the wisteria vine under the verandah outside my front door. So far they like apple, cherries and raisins. Not so keen on bananas and watermelon.

My baby brother

He's all growed up now.

Smiling Tiger

Paul got artistic with Tiger.

I always hated the pink

In September due to slight problem with tiles falling off and taking the wall behind with them I started to renovate the bathroom. Ummmm. I'm sure I'll finish it one day.

Choirboy

Peter was co-opted into the Willin Wimmins' Choir for a couple of fund raising concerts.

Feelings of smugness

Not only did I get a Tardis for my birthday, it was full of chocolates. Heaven on a stick.

Work window views

We went to Lakes Entrance in January because of the bushfires, came back in July for the floods. Now there are reports of a spider plague.

Steam

One cold morning there was steam rising from the furniture and falling from the roof.

Canberra capers

First you need to hatch your evil plan.

Then you must execute it.

Remove all traces of evidence and possible fatal Janette germs.

And lastly, celebrate a job well done.

It washes out, eventually.

You know you live in a classy suburb when ....

On the way home on the day of a shooting in the city, there's eight police cars and lots of men in bullet proof vests etc just around the corner from my house. Thank goodness I've got a savage cat to protect me.

Unwanted side effect

The rain is good but lawn is getting a touch overgrown. And likely to get more so as I intend to ignore it for now.

Fit for a Queen

The inspiration for a glorious, long may she reign over us (the alternative being a bit offputting) dinner.

The challenge - to find food with the Queen's seal of approval.
On the menu - cheese platter with fine oat cakes and carr's biscuits, spicy meatballs with HP sauce, oyster kilpatrick using worcestershire sauce, martini prawns with gin, beef wellington with Colmans mustard, zesty grilled corn, duck glazed with Silver shred marmalade,
apple and blackberry with weetbix crumble and Bendicks after dinner mints.

The guests with the royal purple plastic dinnerware.

Duck duck duck.

Legs. That's what's under this kilt.

Scratch porn beer bottle.

Work window views

Still getting the hang of my camera. Morning in Portarlington.

A week later in Portarlington again. Excitement at seeing raindrops on the window.

Anzac day

A traditional celebration involving home grown and park stolen olives, home brew beers and dukkah. What more could a digger ask for?

Don't say I never spoil her

Mothers day and a slap up meal for all.

Sidetracked once again

An internet search for recipes using chicken and orange blossom somehow ended with me drinking gin with a splash of orange blossom water topped up with lemonade. Yum!

As long as there are no steps.

Melbourne Food and Wine Festival

Gina, Sandy and I went out for a drink and a bite on Saturday. Starting at the Transport bar at Fed Square for a beer or two and a bit of people watching.

Then up and down the tents for some serious eating. Butter chicken, eggplant pastie thingie, rotis, chorizo, honey and lavender ice cream and much more.
Security and safety were big concerns but these guys made us feel safe and as long as you stayed between the flags drowning wasn't an issue.

But you'll be glad to hear after a short walk there was still room for more beer and eggplant chips at the Blue Train Cafe.
