West Geelong Teapot Tree

Light graffiti 3

Peaceful rest

I truly ruly recommend the Central Springs motel in Daylesford just for the serenity.

Light graffiti 2

Marcus macrus. It's hard to spell your name back to front.

For the unsuspecting

It looks like an ordinary bridge. But unsuspecting tourists at Dunkeld's arboretum beware, it is actually a bastard bridge. It's not until you are several metres onto it that it starts to bounce and creak. A little bit freaky as there are no suspension cables holding it up and maybe it's not really supposed to move.

Light graffiti 1

We were experimenting with light toys and long exposures and didn't realise Madeline was there until we downloaded the photos. Click on the above photo to enlarge and find the cat.

Flat cow disease

Dear Miss Netta.
Ta very much for the easter egg.
It arrived this afternoon.
I think the cow was lying on it's back as it spent the long weekend in a warehouse somewhere waiting to be delivered.
The temperatures over the long weekend were 31, 33 and 38.
As evidenced by the missing ears, contents still palatable.
Yours sincerely,
Miss Cathy
P.S. I'll see if I can use the plastic mould to make one myself.

Must wear pyjamas

Having a lovely sleep which became full of dreams of sirens, woke up to actually hear them - which in my neighbourhood is not unusual - and then heard them stop out front. Got up to check it out walking out the front wrapped in a sheet (too hot for jamies last night) to find fire brigade here and house two doors up up in flames. Luckily no one living there at the time but still very freaky. Houses make a lot of noises as they burn. After a few minutes saw the possum making an emergency dash home. It came from the direction of the burning house so it had better have a good alibi. Anyway now an hour later. Fire well out but street full of appliances, police and what looks like a huge fire brigade skip out the front. Sounds like some sort of generator is running so getting back to sleep in a hurry is not an option.

Cunning disguise

Innocent coffee pot or intergalactic evil dressed up for a night out?

Bathroom update

Renovation almost done. A little bit of painting, new mirrors and towel rail will just about do it. It 's very exciting to not be brushing my teeth in the kitchen sink. Even better, it's no longer pink!

Summer fun

5 hours at Luna Park with the kiddies.

Healthy eating

Baby possum eats tinned lychees.

The al fresco dining area has been well received. Apples, raisins, peaches and nectarines have gone down a treat but less appreciated were the watermelon, carrots and mango.
All tucked up for the daytime snooze.
But even with this open plan living area it still gets a bit hot. This sweaty little tail indicates a 41C day and unfortunately the same again tomorrow.

Possum thermometer

The little white tail poking out seems to be a temperature regulator. It was about 39C when this was taken. Also note the new accommodation.

New Years Eve

A very hot night but we had the essentials - copious amounts of champagne, light sticks (ta Deb) and message fans. Gina and Sandy put on a good spread and as a consequence so have I.
For those of you not in Melbourne and possibly overseas somewhere colder, it was 40c at 6pm but cooled down to 32.7c by midnight. The bridesmaids punch was much appreciated.
